Short Stories

Firstly let me apologize for the lack of pictures today.

Today we;
-spent sometime cleaning up our coat hook area, Mrs.Brown will be checking it as she walks by it in the mornings!
-exchanged our library books
-worked to match pairs that add up to 50 (the egg game)
-worked to add the 1st solution to our stories
-completed our mouth/tongue art
-practiced getting the ball over the net in volley ball
-talked about different dangers and which of our senses would sense them (spoiled food, fire, car accident, hot stove etc).

Question of the day-
-can you write about a dangerous scenario and how your senses would help you?

Extra special thanks to Judy Hehr (Parker's Nana) who spent the WHOLE morning helping students with their story writing!

  1. If there was a fire in your house you would see it and hear it. You would hear the crackle of the fire and smell the smoke. You would run right out of the closest door to you and if that is blocked you would run to the next closest door to you. Angelo

  3. Thin ice is my scenario. You can hear it cracking, you might be able to see through it or see water. Parker

  4. 1) walking on ice is a dangerous scenario. Your sight sense can see the ice, your hearing can listen to people’s warnings that it is slippery. Your touch sense let’s you know your feet don’t have a good grip.
    2) being around broken glass: sight lets us see the pieces, hearing helps us hear the shatter, touch sense could say “ouch, get away!” to your brain.
    3) fire is dangerous: sight sense can let us see fire, touch sense let’s us feel the hot burning heat, smell sense let’s us smell the fire and the smoke, hearing sense let’s us hear crackling and the loud fire trucks coming.
    4) toaster. You could feel a toaster get hot, you could smell burning toast, you could actually tasted burnt in your mouth, you could see the toaster burning with smoke, you could hear the bread crackle. All five senses!
