Pink Shirt Day and Earth's Layers

Today we acknowledged Pink Shirt Day, we learned why and how it began 13 years ago.  We talked about bullying being more than physically hurting someone.  Bullying is targeted and can be excluding others, name calling, gossiping, spreading rumours, cyber bullying and physically hurting others. Bullies will only stop if the greater majority stands up to them!

Pink Shirt Day

Today Miss.Cruikshank followed up on her first lesson on the layers of the Earth.  On Monday she taught us a cool rap about the layers on the Earth. Today she had the students build a model of the layers of the Earth.  Your kids finger nails will likely need an extra good cleaning tonight!

Ukrainian Day

Good Afternoon families!

We had an excellent day learning about the Ukraine with Mr.Dean.  Students learned about why and how the costumes are decorated.  We learned that the different regions decorate their costumes to represent their landscapes.

Students also had the opportunity to explore and examine Ukrainian artifacts.  Putting the Babushka doll back together was a bit challenging for some of us!

All students learned a simple Ukrainian dance to complete the afternoon!
