June Updates

Congratulations for so many reasons!

We......

-Convinced Mr.Lowe and Mrs.Brown to let us put up a Bee Barn in our courtyard through our persuasive writing.
-Have been asked to perform our Mountain Bongo play at the Calgary Zoo on June 19th
-Mrs.Schershel and I have been asked to present your work (Earth Books and Bongo Stories) to all of next years Zoo School teachers this coming Tues. at the Zoo.  The Zoo has been so inspired by your work boys and girls!
-Raised $1091.25 for the Mountain Bongo Conservation project in Kenya
-Completed 6 weeks of Running Club
-Many of you ran your very 1st 5km run in the Run for Water.  I'm so proud of you Isabel, Caleb, Estella, Greyson, Catherine,  and LUCAS who ran the 10km run!  We missed you Malia.
-Have gotten through most of the curriculum and are well on our way to completing it!

Upcoming Dates

-June 10th - Calgary Library presentation.

-June 13th- Diamond Shine, wear pink in remembrance of Diamond Marshall.  She was a brave and kind student with an infectious laugh and smile who passed away from cancer 4 years ago.  We are collecting loonies and toonies for the Children's Hospital.

-June 18th - Mrs.Maze's class will be teaching gym to all classes this day.  We are asked to bring a donation for the Calgary Humane Society.  An email was sent out on School Messenger on Friday about this.  Donations could be a Kong dog toy, clean flat sheets, cat food etc.

June 19th- Zoo School (Mrs.Schershel and Mrs.Helsen's classes)

June 20th- CAMPING DAY!  Our class only.  We will have a giant tent set up in our class to spend the day doing our work in.  Students can bring a stuffy,  flashlight, pillow to sit on and wear their pjs.  I will provide hotdogs, baked beans and carrots for lunch.  I will be looking for donations of chips and juice boxes.  We will also make banana boats in the afternoon, I will need 1 bag of chocolate chips and 1 bag of mini marshmallows, I will bring the bananas.

June 24th- Dad's breakfast (before the school bell in the morning),  Sport's Day (all morning), Holy Grill Fun Lunch and talent show #1 in the afternoon.

June 25th- Talent Show #2 in the morning.

June 26th- Grade 6 farewell and last day of school for students.


I may have missed some dates or items....it's report card writing time please forgive me.
