New Novel Study, Dance, Boats and Buoyancy

Our class has begun a new novel study called "The World According to Humphrey".  We completed a summary for chapter 2 this morning.  In our Language Arts program we are focussing on summarizing chapters, persuasive writing and figuring out whether a statement is fact or opinion. We will also continue to work on poetry writing.

In Gym we are grooving to the music and trying to complete our dance routine for Thursday afternoon.  Please join us in the gym this Thursday April 13th from 2:15pm - 3:15pm to watch each class perform.

In Science we continue to learn about boats, buoyancy, and density.  These are BIG concepts to understand, Miss.B is doing a great job modeling and teaching each term.  She had the students divide themselves into 2 unequal groups to try to demonstrate a high and low density based on how much space they took up and how much air was between each of them.

Wednesday May 24th - Trip to Calgary International Children's Festival. Rain date will be Thursday the 25th. We will need at least 5 parent volunteers for the whole day.  Our transportation method is going to be a fun one!  We're walking 1.8km down to the train station and riding the "free zone" to City Hall Station. There will be some VERY tired children AND parents at the end of the day.  Thank you in advance for volunteering for this day!
