Sketching, CUBED strategy, Fair Testing and Gym

Hello Families!

We have taken a big break from step by step sketching but were back at it today.  It's the calmest time of day for our class and all of the students are SO proud of their work.

In Math we have introduced the CUBED strategy for problem solving.  Problem solving in Math is one of the school development goals. The CUBED or CUBES strategy is one that all grades 2,3 and 4 students are working on.  Please see the picture below.

In Gym we have begun using scoops to send and receive balls.  We are practicing throwing softly and then with a bit more effort.  The goal is to be able to play a game somewhat like lacrosse.

In Science we have continued to look at parts of a bridge and fair testing. Today we looked at the strength and stability of pillars under a bridge. We learned that 4 small pillars offer more strength and stability than 1 large pillar.
