Road Calming Project and East Coast Party

What a fun day!  This morning we walked down the hill to the City of Calgary's Road Calming Project.  The project is meant to slow commuters down as the zip through Mount Royal.  The students had a great time sketching, writing and playing in the street art zone.  This was followed up by lemonade and donuts provided by Judy and Dick Hehr (Parker's grandparents).  It truly was a great activity. Thank you to our volunteers who made it possible and to Mr.Lowe for joining us.

Once we got back to the school Mrs.Maze hosted all 3 grade 1-2 classes in the staffroom for an East Coast Kitchen Party.  We talked about playing the wooden box and spoons and about how people like to keep celebrations and traditions from their homelands.

Questions;

Why did the City of Calgary want a Road Calming Project? What did you notice when we were at the street art zone?
