PICTURE ODERS DUE THURSDAY OCT. 25th
Today we welcomed Mrs.Bacani to our class! It will be wonderful to have her teach along side me.
Our current writing is focussing on "procedural writing" and recalling facts and re-writing them in our own words. This week we will write about how to create a spooky house, how to make a grilled cheese sandwich and things that we know about spiders.
This morning we worked on a visual journal page about the Wechia Hippo Sanctuary in Western Ghana. We learned about the Calgary Zoo partnering up with the people from 17 villages to build a safer home for both the hippos and humans.
In Math we are continuing to show a number in a variety of ways. Some of the students are even attempting to represent a number using money. We have also begun working on "How Many Ways". This is taking a number and showing multiple number sentences to express it.
6+6=12
10+2=12
24-12=12
3x4=12
7+5=12
In Science we looked at water droplets. We noticed that we can stack water droplets on a penny and that water is attracted to other water.
Roles and responsibilities at school will be our focus in Social Studies. We will look at responsibilities in the classroom, hallways, playground, gym and lunchroom.
Making good choices, being happy, and how to be a good friend is what we are learning about in Health. It is so interesting to hear all of the things that make the kids happy.
QUESTION of the day!!!!
What are some things the Wechai Hippo Sanctuary did to help both the humans and animals?
