Monday September 11th, 2017

Happy Monday!  This morning our class had some BIG changes and 8 students moved into the new grade 2/3 class that is in room 12.  Only parent's who had a child moving to the new class received a phone call last week.  This brings our class down to 21 students which is wonderful for learning!  We will miss our friends but can see them at lunch, recess and other special times.  Our coat hooks are now located downstairs and the downstairs door is the one we will be using.

Tomorrow E.G is hosting the Dare to Care program.  Our class will be going through the program from 8:30am-9:30am in the gym. We welcome any parents who are able to attend.  This is a great opportunity to see the language, strategies and skills your children will be learning to use.

Today we completed our summer buckets and All About My Summer pages.  In Math we talked briefly about the differences between repeating and growing patterns.  Our problem of the day was more complex because it had 2 steps.

In gym we began our unit on soccer. Kinley was a trapping star and didn't let a ball get past her!

In Social Studies we have begun talking about what makes us special and the people in our families.

We have begun our first novel study "James and the Giant Peach".  One chapter in and the class is engrossed in the book!

Sneaky Question!

Why does James go and live with his 2 awful aunts?
