Fractions, planting, building boats, Canada 150!

This morning we worked on catching up on unfinished work from last week.  Once most of us had completed our "Earth Needs Moms" writing and our Humphrey chapters #4 and #5 we were able to get our hands a little dirty.  Sorry for the  dirty finger nails! We had lots of fun in the courtyard and will be bringing home something special this weekend.

In the afternoon we talked about a special day coming up in less than 2 months.  We watched a quick video about Canada Participaction and discussed ways that our families are physically active. Below is a link that you can watch as a family.

We are asking for all families to send in paper copies of photos of your family being physically active.  We will then create a bulletin board of E.G families in action. Please label the photos with your child's name and class.  I've stapled a list of the physical activities into each child's agenda.

The last part of the day was spent trying to build boats!  It's a tricky thing to do with only 1 adult on the classroom, we are all practicing using patience!

Question of the day.

What special thing is Canada celebrating this year?
