Hats Off For Mental Health

Thank you to Parker's Papa for coming in and reading (and singing) to our class this morning!

Today we discussed mental health.

We learned;
-you can't catch or spread a mental health disease
-you can't see a mental health illness
-you CAN get help with mental illness
-1 in 4 people will have a diagnosable mental illness over their lifetime

Below is a link for a quick video about mental illness.

In the afternoon we spent time looking measuring cups and measuring volume.

During Science we conducted an experiment where we had to float water bottles, sink them and then have them float semi-submerged.  We learned that submarines are intended to both float and sink.  Our experiment taught use that submarines can open valves to allow water in them to make them more dense and then sink.

Please remember to bring in boat building materials by next Monday.

Question of the day:

Why should we celebrate Star Wars tomorrow....be persuasive!

  1. uhm. because May the 4th is the only day that sounds like "May the Force" be with you. Perhaps it is because it is the 40th anniversary of it's original release? Or because they are really good movies? Hmm. What else?
