Monday Oct. 23rd

Today our class welcomed our Mount Royal University student teacher Miss.Raymond to our class.  She will be with us until Christmas and will be responsible for teaching 1 unit in Science and other lessons.

Today we;
-had our Monday morning assembly, Angelo received his Win-Win for blogging with his family and keeping his family up to date.
-worked in our Gratitude books
-learned about animal adaptations in winter
-began a visual journal page about animals in winter
-worked on a patterning problem in Math, counted backwards and practiced subitizing
-went to Music
-began basketball in Gym

Updates:
-Thursday Oct. 26th Fish Creek
-Monday Oct. 30th Walk to Lucas's House and lunch
-Tuesday Oct. 31 Please bring a hollowed out pumpkin
-Nov. 8th tentative date for walk to Cenotaph
-Nov. 10th Remembrance Day Ceremony at school.
-please check the sign-up genius for our classes Halloween Party wish list.  I can see that we have 2 veggie platter instead of 1 fruit and 1 veggie.  We also need napkins and plates if someone could help out there and comment below.

  1. bears hibernate, frog's antifreeze themselves for when they go underground and last but not least, artic foxes stay up and move around during the winter. parker

  3. three ways that animals can survive are hibernating migrating and adapting the winter.a hibernating animal could be an bear.a migrating animal could be a Canada geese.an adapting animal could be a arctic fox. from blair.

  4. (1) hibernating (2) collect food before they hibernate (3) if the animals have long fur they can hide in the snow so they won't get eaten... this is called camouflage. Oh, and if the animals are lucky, they can hide under the snow with white fur.

    Rabbits dig a hole in the ground to stay warm in the winter, but first they have to grab a whole bunch of carrots to store for the winter. Bears hibernate if they get woken you might first want to take bear spray so you don't get eaten. We used to keep bear spray in our cupboard when we lived in Banff. A squirrel gathers nuts and puts them in their tree and rarely comes out in winter. From Blu.

  5. They grow really warm coats and feathers.Other animals like bears will Hibernate during the winter and sleep all winter. Animals will also migrate to somewhere warmer. From Lily.
