We certainly were a chatty, busy group today! This morning we worked on our spelling words,
listened for words that didn’t make sense in the sentence and visited the
library. We also completed a “I see, I
think, I wonder” assignment. Students
were shocked to see a dog inside of a dishwasher licking the dishes. The kids were able to come up with lots of
different statements about what the dog was doing.
In the afternoon we practiced bumping the volleyball over
the net. This is a bit tricky since most
of us are having a difficult time just throwing the ball over the net.
In Math we continued sorting. Leonie came up with a great strategy. She divided her people by babies, young
children and adults. Alex P sorted his
animals by predatory, neutral and passive temperaments. It’s really quite amazing to see what the
kids can come up with on their own.
Science was a blast!
The kids each got their own coin, an eye-dropper, water and paper
towel. They tried to drop as many drops
of water as possible on the coin before it over flowed. We noticed that the water goes into a dome
shape and can build up for quite a while before spilling. We talked about water having a skin called a
meniscus. We will continue with this experiment.
